2003 Dodge Ram 1500 Differential Rebuild
Oct 23, 2009 Front Bumper, running board, exhaust bracket
Ray mentioned that the Ram was involved in a wreck before he bought it. There are some signs of it. The main clue was the misalignment of the front bumper. The passenger side was hanging 1.5-2 inches below the headlight. I spent a few minuets loosening bolts, jacking up the bumper, pushing here, pulling there. I realigned it the best I could without replacing any parts.

The drivers side running board was also loose by the back door. The bracket was missing. I fabricated a new bracket and installed it. The running board is now firmly in place and will support a step up.

I noticed one of the exhaust tips was hanging loose. The hanging bracket was broken. It had been welded before, so it's really time to replace it. Since a hanging and shaking pipe can cause more damage I'll patch the bracket one more time till Ray stops at a muffler shop.
