is simple. In this picture I have started polishing the aluminum trim and
handles on the front cover. I was surprised how well they buffed out. The
core itself was originally finished in the gray engine paint. I purchased
brown wrinkle paint from Chevs of the forties. It's described as Radio and
Heater paint. I'm not sure if the unit originally came with the ground
wire attached to one of the front cover mounting screws. I will move
it to a more attractive location. The parts were all cleaned, sanded and
sprayed with K 36 primer. After proper drying time the parts were painted
with the brown winkle paint. The parts were then placed on an upside down
cookie sheet and placed in a 225 degree oven to activate the wrinkle
effect. The reassembled unit looks and works great. |
